One, two, three, four, more?
If you said “one” you’re an optimist like me, but you’d be surprised.
We’ve hired and trained great managers who we thought would stay forever, but then they got sick or their spouse got sick, or they decided to move back to Wisconsin or Montana (and a few turned out to be “less than honest” before we learned how to weed them out using the strategies in Module 15).
Good managers leave. It happens – usually unexpectedly.
Naturally, realizing you’re going to go through multiple managers (unless you plan to be the manager forever), you might decide that 100-200 hours of your time is just two high a price to invest over and over again and you might decide to create a course like this yourself.
Sounds reasonable enough, right?
Well, it might take you a little less time or a little more time than it took me (about 14 months), assuming you had access to professional video and audio gear, a computer capable of video editing, and not to mention the access I had to the three top-notch park managers and owners who I was constantly calling, filming and interviewing to create the content and the role-play videos you’ll see inside the course.
That’s certainly an option you could pursue and you’d probably learn a lot in the process, but…
